This video is the second in a 4-part series covering personal branding myths I have encountered in Japan and how I work with my Japanese clients to ‘bust’ these myths to embrace the power of their personal brands!
Myth #2: Only top executives and managers have (or need) a personal brand

Peter, this video was indeed very interesting. I completely agree with you: You don’t need to be some high-class executive to develop a personal brand. What we do need is, in my opinion, a mission we want to fulfill; a purpose, a “why” we do what we do, and communicate that “why” to our customers through our work.
Having insanely good skills is also a must, of course; being mediocre or just “good enough” in what you do will most likely lead you to utter failure. But your skills must be aligned with a purpose you want to fulfill in the world; only then, I think, you can truly create a brand that other people can connect with.
I’ll check out some of your other videos Peter; thank you for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed the video. As you say, the ‘why’ is so crucial to what we do and how we do. Have you ever seen a great TED talk by Simon Sinek? He says, “people do not buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it.” Here is the link. Let me know what you think about it and thanks again for your comment. http://youtu.be/qp0HIF3SfI4
